Do you ever just crave the ordinary? I find that there’s something so comforting in the mundane. I would even go as far as to argue that mundane can be a place–a peaceful place. Finding satisfaction in the ordinary–being content in the day-to-day–getting into a routine–and retreating back to simple-ness.
The past two weeks we’ve had back-to-back first-time visitors here in Reno. While we love to entertain and see our family + friends–it’s nice to get back to our habitually uneventful lifestyle. During these last two weekends, I’ve realized one thing: It’s easy to take things for granted when you’re busy living in the moment. There were times I would dread weekends that we’d sit alone with the cat, and now suddenly I was yearning for that very solace. Lord knows in a few weeks I will be missing the hustle and bustle of nights out on the town, but for now, I’m soaking up the stillness.
